New England
Jazz Hall of Fame,
a documentary exhibition
Photographs, appreciation
pieces, narration, film and biographical materials
of the first 10 inductees into the New England Jazz
hall of Fame
Ten Hall of Famers were chosen by
a knowledgeable college of 172 voters. They are
Johnny Hodges, Alan Dawson, Harry Carney, Paul Gonsalves,
Jaki Byard, Bobby Hackett, Tony Williams, Sabby
Lewis, Serge Chaloff and Sonny Stitt.
The photographers include Jack Bradley,
Nick Puopolo, Lee Tanner, Ruth Williams, Ken Franckling,
Tom Curry and Vinnie Haynes. The literary contributors
to the exhibit include Nat Hentoff, Bob Blumenthal,
Eric Nisenson, Jack Bradley, Bob Young, Ernie Santosuosso,
Tony Cennamo, Stu Vandermark, Fred Bouchard and
Tom Reney. There will also be representative art
works by David X. Young.

Spirit of the East,
featuring the artists of
Chinese Painting Guild Opening Reception:
Saturday, May 11 4- 6pm
Calligraphy Demonstration, June 15 at 2:30pm
In conjunction with this year's Spirit of the
East exhibition, renowned calligrapher Professor
Qian Shen Bai will be demonstrating on Saturday,
May 18th at the Gallery. 1-4 PM
Classical Chinese Instrument Recital Saturday, June
15 1-4 PM
"Harmony with Nature", a recital of Gu-zheng and
Gu-qin. Gu-gin is an instrument favored by Chinese
scholars. There are less than 300 people play
this ancient instrument today. This is a rare
opportunity to see and hear these rare instrument!

Vignette: An exhibition of Poetry, Painting, and
Photography
by Neicei Degan, Nunzio Luca, and Jon Yoh--The
exhibition in three mediums, presents the work of
artists expressisng their views on the natural landscape.
