Sand T painting-installation
at The Tremont Gallery
February 6 - March 10, 2001
The
International Society presents Massachusetts based artist
Sand T's painting-installation entitled the mind of space
- u p p e r s t o r y. Sand T works in the media of drawing,
collage, painting and installations. She incorporates elements
such as sketches, computer generated images, floor plans,
photos, polaroid pictures, journal excerpts, and trilingual
text in this series of painting-installation. Sand T has
been collecting these elements and they have become the
inspiration and means to create the mind of space - u p
p e r s t o r y . The visual setting is an exploration of
self through the manipulation of the various media. Sand
T uses the notion of "House As Self" to examine spaces of
intimacy and immensity, physical and psychological space.
A capturing of her life in a day-dream state is laid bare
for viewer to examine. The artist is essentially displaying
her existence in a landscape of contemplations, emotions,
ideals, and expectations. We invite you to venture into
a land of T-tales and open your mind to an inner space.
